Christine Monteiro, lyric soprano, holds a Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Music Performance from NIU. She has been a featured vocalist with the DeKalb Municipal Band, Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra, the Kishwaukee Concert Band, the Stateline Music Foundation Festival Chorus, Chicago Sinfonietta, and the DeKalb Festival Chorus, along with several area church choirs.
Christine is a member of the trumpet sections of the DeKalb Municipal Band, the Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra, and plays lead trumpet in the Jazz in Progress jazz band as well as being their female vocalist. She has also been heard in pit orchestras for 24 Stage Coach Players musical productions.
A performer of many talents, Christine is the director of the Celebration Chorale and also serves as music director for the Waterman Community Choir. She has also directed a number of musicals for Children's Community Theater.
Christine’s voice and trumpet can be heard on over twenty CD recordings, including three solo albums, “Grace,” “Love in Any Language,” and “Christmas Treasures.”
