Gavin Wilson has always been a performaholic. Starting as a magician and trumpet player at the age of 8, he also learned to be a ventriloquist, impressionist, singer, actor and escape artist, and soon realized he had a serious addiction… to the stage. Gavin came to NIU in 1982 to receive very expensive treatments for his performaholicism, while pursuing a degree in music composition. Here he met his wife Mary, and they bought the Hillside Restaurant in 1989, and raised three sons. A representative with COUNTRY Financial, Gavin also advocates for fiscal literacy in the community. A founding member of Jazz in Progress, you may have also seen him at local theatre performances over the years.
And now, to further feed his addiction,…Here’s Gavin Wilson.
